LADY luck must be smiling on Yunalis Zarai, better known as Yuna. Right after winning second place at the recent 24th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL24) last Sunday, the independent singer/song writer is already considering offers to spread her wings internationally.

If the Kedah-born singer hesitated on an earlier offer which had made headlines last year, this time Yuna is considering to give serious thoughts on the second.

"I received a call from a label representative from America at the end of last year asking me whether I was interested to sign under their label. Of course, I was surprised," she said.

"I had never imagined that my music would come this far, but I am grateful that it did. Penetrating the international market has always been my target," said Yuna.

She is, however, having second thoughts on the offer. "A lot of things need to be sorted out before I could give a nod to this offer.

Even if I am there, I want my music style to stay with me. "This is the kind of music I make and I'm comfortable with," said Yuna.

This doesn't mean she has either accepted or rejected the offer. It only means that she is seriously considering it.

KUALA LUMPUR: The hosts for popular dance reality program Sehati Berdansa, actor and actress Awal Ashaari and Scha Alyahya, came clean tonight in a tell-all that was aimed at clearing the air.

Both were among several artistes said to have been involved when the police raided an unlicensed entertainment outlet on Christmas eve.

Awal Ashaari was also supposedly detained after refusing to undergo a urine test in the raid at 3.15am on Friday morning which also witnessed several other recognizable faces of the entertainment community involved.

Speaking after the finale of the show last night, Scha Alyahya began by admitting that she had indeed been among those who had been screened by the police for drug tests on patrons.

“Scha Alyahya received a call from a friend to join her after I finished shooting the TV series Awan Dania, which ended at about 1am to 1.30am.

“My friend, Stephanie from Melbourne, was in town with her family and had planned a birthday party in the outlet next to the nightspot in question,” said Scha Alyahya.

“Since Scha Alyahya arrived there late, and the venue I intended to go to was closed, I went into the outlet next door. It was then that the raid was carried out. Scha Alyahya had been there for less than half an hour when it happened.”

Scha Alyahyaa said that it was simply a case of her being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“Still, I did the test and it was negative, proving I had not taken any drugs.” Scha Alyahya denied allegations she had been drunk.

“I don’t drink, and lately I’ve been going through so many problems and Scha Alyahya haven’t been healthy.”

"Memanglah renyah buat kek lapis ni, tambah pula kalau dibuat dengan kuantiti yang banyak. Saya kena pastikan kualitinya sama setiap masa.Di situlah cabarannya." kata penyanyi terkenal yang bernama Sharifah Hadijah Wan Mossanda ini.

While most people worry about putting on weight, Golding is trying to gain some. Already slim, he tends to lose weight if he’s unable to eat regularly or get enough sleep.

Q: Describe your daily routine.

A: I’m not really an early riser. However, I try to have breakfast as often as I can.

Q: Why is staying fit important to you?

A: It’s part of my job. As a model, I need to maintain my figure. A lot of people have the misconception that you must be extremely thin to be a model but this is not true.

Q: What motivates you to keep fit?

A: My housemates, who are all health-conscious. I try to exercise and eat properly. It is tough but the thought of having muscles and a toned body keeps me going.

Q: Describe your workout regime.

A: I hit the gym three to four times a week. I’m also trying a new workout which focuses on every part of the body. It is hard to stick to a proper schedule because of my erratic working hours. You never know what might pop up.

Q: Do you have a special diet?

A: I’m trying to gain weight so I’m eating more protein these days. Actually, I eat everything. However, I try to avoid salty, oily and sugary foods.

Q: What are the obstacles that deter you from working out?

A: My unpredictable timetable. Sometimes I have last-minute jobs and get roped into activities. Because of this, I just don’t have the time to do anything else.

Q: Are there times when you relapse? How do you get back into it?

A: When I first started going to the gym, it was difficult to exercise constantly. Procrastination is my biggest problem. But the thought of being fit gets me back to my exercise routine.

Q: How do you maintain your weight?

A: I’ve been blessed with a slim and tall figure so I don’t worry about putting on weight. I tend to shed the kilos if I don’t eat at the right time and if I don’t get enough sleep. So I try my best to maintain a healthy weight so as not to appear ill and thin.

Q: Have you always maintained a healthy lifestyle or was it your job that led you to adopt it?

A: I have always led a healthy lifestyle but I became more health-conscious after I became a model.

Q: Do you keep fit for personal and health reasons, or to fit into a particular image society may have?

A: I do it for myself. I do not want to be unfit.

Q: As you grow older, do you think it’s more important to look after your health?

A: Definitely. I may be young now but in 30 or 40 years’ time I don’t want to look in the mirror and not like what I see.

Police have confirmed that the newscaster who was nabbed along with 27 other people in a raid on a hotel room on New Year’s Eve is Farahrizan Abdul Razak.

Sources told Malay Mail that the 22-year-old newsreader with Astro Awani had tested positive for drugs. She has been remanded for two days, along with eight others who had also tested positive. Also picked up during the raid were the organisers of the party.

Officers led by Assistant Superintendent Mahani Ahmad found condoms, drugs and alcohol in the room, which was packed with revellers who had received special invites to the party through social networking site Friendster.

Authorities are concerned that the organisers of these romps are using the Internet to get the word out. (see accompanying story).

City police had raided the room on the 11th floor of the Cabana Inn in Jalan P. Ramlee after being tipped off that a sex and drugs party was being held there. The suspects, aged between 18 and 31, were picked up at 3am by D7, the anti-vice and gaming unit.

When police moved in, two halfnaked couples were in bed, while the others were intoxicated. Half-eaten pizzas and empty beer cans littered the floor.

Authorities seized 24 Ecstasy pills, packets and straws containing Ketamine, one Eramine 5 tablet, other drug paraphernalia and some condoms. Efforts to contact Farahrizan for comment were unsuccessful.
